Singer-song writer из Джексонвилля,Флорида.В начале творческого пути Шеннон учавствовала в группе "Crowsdell".В 1998 году,после того,как Crowsdell покинули лейбл Big Cat Records,Райт переезжает в Северную Каролину и начинает записываться соло,а спустя некоторое время отправляется в Атланту,штат Джорджия.В ранних альбомах Райт играет почти на всех инструментах,в более поздних предпочитает гитару,фортепиано и вокал.Ее выступления наполнены эмоциями,которые она выражает различными способами.
Шеннон учавствовала в турах с такими исполнителями,как Nick Cave, Dirty Three, Low, Man or Astro-man, и Sleater-Kinney.Брайан Тесли,барабанщик Man or Astro-man,помогал Шеннон в трех ее альбомах,Эрик Бахман,лидер Crooked Fingers,играл на фортепиано на двух лонгплеях певицы,а также пел дуэтом с Шеннон в песне "Азалия"
