Rourke is an extremely gifted reedman (Tenor, Soprano, and Baritone specialist) whose playing encompasses the realms of Funk, RnB, and Jazz. He has played with groups as diverse as Bloodstone, The Young Hearts, as well as his own original group, Soup’s Ready. Through these many experiences, as an athlete and an educator; Rourke has crafted a CD that pays homage to the era where horns were as necessary as the rhythm section and as instrumental to the interpretation and expression of the music.
