Receiver - Teddy Has Stopped Breathing(2001) trip-hop, downtempo

"Teddy Has Stopped Breathing" is Receiver's second album released on Microbe Records.
With a production CV that spans work with the legendary On-U Sound stable as well as work with Bristol sound pioneers Smith & Mighty, Receiver has released a plethora of material on the now defunct Cup Of Tea label, including the well received debut album "Chicken Milk", as well as Bristol based Swarfinger Records.
"Teddy Has Stopped Breathing" features the unmistakable voice and lyrical talents of Rich Beale, one time art collaborator with punk funk legends the Pop Group and Rip Rig & Panic (who spawned the successful career of Nenah Cherry). Beale has, in recent times, fronted his own Pregnant project, and on "Teddy..." brings Receivers brand of quirky Balearic funk into a new dimension. Although compared to the likes of Massive Attack and Space, Receiver’s sound hopes to speak for itself.
The first single to be culled from the album, "Leviathan" appears with remixes from Smith & Mighty and Japanese La Chi Chi. This will precede a short tour of the U.K's more discerning venues, with the album’s release scheduled for June 2001.
